There may be four parallel Londons in V.E. Schwab’s A Darker Shade of Magic, but this New York City has spoken: A Gathering of Shadows, the sequel to A Darker Shade of Magic, is #15 on the Print Hardcover New York Times bestseller list! Congratulations to Schwab and to Tor Books on the placement. (The list on the NYT site will reflect this in a few days.)
Schwab put it best:
It took me 6 years and 9 books, but I am officially a New York Times Bestselling Author. If you need me, I’ll be lying on the floor.

Schwab is currently writing the pilot for the TV adaptation of A Darker Shade of Magic, which means we may see Traveler-magician Kell and thief Delilah Bard travel from the four Londons onto the small screen. You can read the first two chapters of A Gathering of Shadows, which tracks the fallout of the first book and sees two magical Londons fight for the right to exist.
